Preparing for a visit to
Pediatric Surgery Centers.
Referrals are required from your child’s specialist or specialty service provider. Appointments will be made through your surgeon’s office. Referrals for patients enrolled in managed care insurance plans may require authorization from the insurance provider and primary care physician. All necessary referral and authorization forms must be received before the patient’s visit. For accurate provider numbers or more information, please call our office.
A day before your child’s scheduled surgery, a nurse will call you to conduct a pre-operative interview, take a medical history and answer any questions that you may have. During this interview, please notify us of any of the following: allergies, current medications, exposure to chicken pox; development of a cold, sore throat or fever. At this time we will confirm your surgery time, make arrangements for any special needs that you may have, give specific pre-operative instructions and notify you of any financial obligation you will be responsible for when you arrive for surgery.
